Shaina Silva is an impact investor and venture builder who has dedicated her career towards creating pathways to opportunities in the word’s emerging markets. Her region of focus expands the Caribbean and West African markets, specializing in building capacity within startup ecosystems.

In her current role as the Portfolio Director at Generation Enterprise (GEN) in Lagos, Nigeria, she facilitates the development of over 300 startups aiming to solve some of Nigeria’s biggest challenges. While at GEN, she launched the Africa Start Up Academy, an accelerator that prepares young companies for global investments.

Shaina is an Emerging Institutions Fellow from the Landmark Development Initiatives Africa (LDI AFRICA), sits on the Board of the “Caribbean Youth Summits”, and is a co-founder of “Haiti in Transition” (H.i.T), a non-profit organization that served as a catalyst for connecting Haitian youth in Haiti to those in the Diaspora, to increase social, entrepreneurial, and civic collaboration for the development of the nation.

Prior to GEN, Shaina worked as a Management Consultant at Data Management Services International (DMS). She earned her bachelor’s degree in International Business from Babson College, and studied Sustainable Development at the Universidad Latino Americana de Ciencia y Tecnologia in Costa Rica. In recognition of her work, service and accomplishments, she’s been awarded the ‘Nan-Langowitz Women Who Make a Difference Award’, and is a proud recipient of ‘The Shelby Cullom Davis Entrepreneurship Prize’.
