Mona-Lee Belizaire is passionate about the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls in the developing world. She has over 10 years of experience in maternal and child health and sexual and reproductive health, specifically with adolescents, and has worked on the local, national and international levels in the areas of teen pregnancy prevention, teen parenting, and positive youth development. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from the University of Florida. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree, with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health, from the University of South Florida and Master of Social Work degree from Florida State University.

Mona-Lee believes in public service and currently volunteers with the Rural Women Centre for Education and Development located in Cameroon developing activities for their menstrual hygiene and sexual and reproductive health programs. She is a volunteer with the African American Health Program and a member of the Caribbean American Advisory Group in Montgomery County, Maryland and a blogger for Girls’ Globe. 

In 2016, Mona-Lee founded Pearls of Potential, Inc., a mission-based organization that provides support and services to adolescent mothers in the developing world through capacity building, advocacy and mentoring. She has first hand experience understanding the shame and stigma that adolescent mothers face. Mona-Lee envisions a world where adolescent mothers will be treated equally and supported in reaching their full potential.
