Keianna Dixon is an accomplished health care professional and recognized leader in Caribbean community affairs, particularly health and education. She promotes children's literacy through the Read Across Jamaica Foundation. She served as a Governing Councilor of the Metropolitan Washington Public Health Association, an affiliate of the American Public Health Association. In this role, she led strategic planning, education, and activism on pressing health issues impacting people of color and other vulnerable populations, including access to healthy foods and women's health. Furthermore, Keianna founded and served as President of the Africa-Diaspora Literary Society at Columbia University. In this role, she organized literary salons, hosted award-winning writers and thought leaders, and led educational activism to promote the achievements of people of African descent, including Caribbean people. Guest writers included Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Pamela Newkirk and renowned Antiguan author Jamaica Kincaid. Keianna received awards for her lasting impact as a student leader during her four years at Columbia University, including the coveted Kings Crown Leadership Excellence Award.

Keianna is an outstanding leader not only in her own community but also on a national and international level. Nationally, she worked for the US Department of Agriculture, where she drafted scientific briefs to further public awareness on animal and plant health. She also performed qualitative research at the NIH on attitudes and beliefs that Black and White physicians held about the role of genetics in racial and ethnic health disparities. Notably, Keianna was selected for the White House Internship. She served on a team in the Office of Presidential Personnel that delivered recommendations to President Obama on candidates for federal economic agencies and boards. Her portfolio included the US Department of Commerce, US Department of the Treasury, Small Business Administration, and Council of Economic Advisers. She also performed analyses on the impact of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act for the Chief of Staff's Office. Keianna was prominent among her peers for leading an intern team that met with and was personally recognized by President Obama for winning a service project competition.

Internationally, Keianna worked for l’Association Sénégalaise pour le Bien-Etre Familial, Senegal's leading family planning NGO which performs much of the nation’s health care service delivery and delivers policy guidance to the Ministry of Health. She performed daily medical operations, health education and research, and stakeholder engagement to devise strategies to launch a national initiative against mother-to-child HIV transmission.

Keianna has received numerous awards for current work as a management consultant specializing in strategy and operations services for state, federal, and global health clients. She is published in BMC Medical Genomics; her peer-reviewed article, “Human Difference in the Genomic Era”, calls for a socially responsible dialogue about human genetic variation. Keianna was awarded the highly selective QuestBridge National College Match Scholarship to Columbia University, where she received a BA in Sociology.

Keianna is a true pioneer who boldly takes on new missions with passion, diligence, and tenacity. She is using her local, national, and international successes to forge a career and legacy as a global health leader and cultural thought leader advancing the health and development interests of people in the Caribbean and African Diaspora.
