Alexandria is an academic and researcher whose passions include Caribbean heritage, Black womanhood, music, and activism. Her research on contemporary Dancehall and feminism has been presented at the University of the West Indies, Mona and she authored a comprehensive senior thesis on Jamaica's Reggae Revival and reggae's emancipatory legacies in the twenty-first century. Her research has garnered other presentations including with the Duke University & University of North Carolina Consortium of Latin American and Caribbean Studies, as well as guest lecturing positions at her alma mater, Duke University. A History and African & African American Studies double major in undergrad, Alexandria will be applying for doctoral programs this coming Fall where she hopes to research the perceptions and discourse around Black women's activism in Jamaica and Black women's popularity, or lack thereof, in political Jamaican music.

Alexandria served on the board of the Duke's Students of the Caribbean Association (SOCA) all four years, culminating in her presidency her senior year. While there, she spearheaded bringing Duke's first J'ouvert to campus and annual photo campaigns, including one dedicated to Afro-Caribbeans during Black History Month. She also organized the annual Caribana festival and planned numerous events and dialogues surrounding Caribbean history, heritage, and present-day issues. Outside of serving on SOCA's alumni board today, she serves as both a College Advisor at a local high school and as the US Editor for BASHY Magazine, a quarterly publication focused on Jamaican millennials on the island and in its diaspora.
