Jamaica is known around the world as a powerhouse in sprinting. Aisha is breaking, and hurdling, barriers as a female distance runner. Most recently, Aisha brought home the gold medal to her island nation in the 3,000m Steeplechase at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. This represented a monumental achievement as it was the first ever global medal for a Jamaican athlete in a distance event.

Over the past three years she has made a point of competing in Jamaica, in front of her fellow Jamaicans, being a shining star for which Jamaicans around the world can be proud. Aisha's path to success wasn't always easy. Battling through a series of unfortunate injuries since beginning her career as a Jamaican athlete, Aisha has shown true grit and determination in the dedication to her craft. Even moving to the high mountains of Colorado to train with some of the best athletes in the world! The results have spoken for themselves. Aisha is now the Jamaican national record holder in the steeplechase as well as the 1,500m and 3,000m distances in indoor track. Along with her numerous track accolades, Aisha has a passion for advocating for women's sport and aspires to inspire the next generation of Jamaican distance runners (in 2018, Jamaica took home top honors in the 1,500m and 3,000m at the Carifta Games for both boys and girls!). Currently she volunteers her time and donates resources to high school athletes in the US and plans to expand her reach to young athletes in Jamaica.
